Description
An old 1930s/40s era car at Mariscal Mine, Big Bend National Park. The Mariscal Mine operated between 1900 and 1943 mining cinnabar ore from which mercury (aka quicksilver) is extracted. That would not have been a fun ride to the mine in that car. To get there we had to drive about 20 miles (1+ hours) on what the park service calls "primitive" road defined as 4WD, high-clearance vehicles only. An added bonus in this shot which I did not notice until I started process is the setting moon right in the middle of the sky above the mine.
As always, your comments and faves are appreciated. Constructive criticism and suggestions are especially welcome as I believe they help to make me a better photographer. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos.
