Artist's Description
We were on vacation in New Brunswick in July, 1980 and stopped in the very picturesque town of St. Andrews. I saw this gentleman standing outside the restaurant as we parked the car. The way he was standing there with the newspaper carefully folded in his jacket pocket, the cap and the way the whole scene just grabbed my attention. This was the first time I ever tried street photography and I was so nervous that I only took one shot.

About Mike Schaffner
Photography has been a passion of mine for over 45 years and I look forward to making photos for the next 45. I hope that you like my photos; I am okay with it if you dislike them; I just hope I never bore you. I haven't deliberately developed a certain style as I like most styles and genres of photography. I will admit a preference for black and white images as I find them more expressive but not to the exclusion of color images. I creatively edit my images to convey to the viewer the spirit of what I saw and felt about the scene rather than trying to document the scene journalistically. All of the images were made and processed by me. All are copyrighted, all rights reserved.

What luck to come across this scene. I love the composition even down to the partial bike wheel. Great capture that's perfect in B&W, Wendy
